Over the last year, we collected a number of bug reports related to the new roof system that was not behaving correctly for complex roofs, as well as several other crashing bugs related to the new multi-level feature. Because of that, we decided to spend some time fixing these bugs while the rest of the team kept working at Fun With Objects Part 2.

And because we are who we are, we decided to sneak in a few new long-awaited features as well! Check them out below.

Multi-page Printing

We finally added multi-page printing functionality! You can now choose any paper size when using the "Print Export" function, and we will automatically cut up the map into pieces so that it fits on the least amount of pages. This works for Digital and Print Yourself maps.

To make it easier to glue the pages together, there's a small overlap at the edge of each paper so that you don't have to cut precisely on the edge of the image.

Because any map size can now be printed in any paper format, we unlocked map resizing for print maps, and it'll automatically adjust the amount of pages to the new size of the map.

To make custom paper formats more convenient, we've also added the ability to save any custom paper format you configure, so you can reuse it later. This is especially useful when you want to print your map with another scale than the default 1 inch per tile. You can now just select a paper format, change the tile size, and save it for later use.

Here's a photo of a large map that was automatically cut up and printed on multiple pages, ready to be glued together:

Other New Features

  • Added a Roof button to the advanced AI generation menu, so you can disable roof generation on all new rooms you draw if you want to.

  • Added an "Export Ground Floor With All Roofs" option to the export menu, useful for exporting a village without revealing the interiors of all the buildings.

Bugfixes

  • Fix the abstract lights only having 3 states when the operating system language is set to French or Dutch.

  • Fixed bug that caused objects to be deleted from adjacent rooms when drawing new rotated rooms, or drawing rooms around curved walls.

  • Prevent collisions-off objects from being deleted when drawing rooms above or below them.

  • Fixed tons of issues with the generation of complex slanted roofs.

  • Fixed several issues with flat roofs not generating correctly around curved walls.

  • Walls no longer have an outline sticking through the ceiling in the room below in first person view.

  • Fixed bug with batch export not exporting the right file type for each batch config.

  • Removed obsolete _ at the end of the filenames when doing batch export.

  • Fixed bug with fungi, pillar-mounted lights and other objects sinking through the floor in underground rooms.

  • Improved selection boxes of some windows, especially when placed in curved walls.

  • Only populate the new terrain with objects when resizing an existing map.

  • Fixed crash bug when changing the terrain of old maps.
